Welcome back everyone! By the amount of sweat pumped out this week on court, most were blaming it on the heat (nothing to do with 2 weeks off!!). The first game was against Hot Shots and Xe Oms (1st and 2nd on the ladder respectively). With only Clive looking like he would be manning the court on his own with 1 minute to go before kick off, the rest of Xe Oms casually rocked up in time to take the court (our umpire Sophie was happy to fill in for a half while the rest of the team arrived). Xe Oms started off the game hard and fast and continued this was for the rest of the game. Hot Shots continued to mix things up in an attempt to come back but were defeated 17-34. BJ's fence climb and Emily's shooting were two highlights of the game. Thanks to Bronnie for umpiring and the injured Albi for sidelining. Hope to see you back on court next week.
In the second game, BIS Offs vs Em Ois saw some entertaining play by Damo (scoring a lay up in the basketball hoop in the first quarter but the magic of the new balls failing him in his 5 from 24 attempted shots in the last quarter). BIS Offs new recruit, Lindsay, came to watch but immediately took the court for her first game back in a few years. Well done, Lindsay and welcome! More entertainment was had with some 'Run Forest, Run' and tittie grabs (Bronnie). Great defence by Trina too! Well done to H in her first game back since the op. Final score saw BIS Offs win the game, 32-17.
Thanks again to our umpires and hope to see a number of you pop on down on Wednesday, 31 October to support the Shooters girls against the Australian Navy team.
